Using your Vaults
Main Street Sites premium features allow our customers to add an endless variety of custom pages, images, etc. to their sites using a series of "Vaults."
Most of the premium features can be found in the "Your Content" section of the main menu, shown here.
Using "vault" items
The process by which you'll add custom content to your site involves first adding the content (text, images, files, pages) to a "Vault" (like the "File Vault" or "Image Vault") and then telling the system where you want your content to display.
Main Street Sites supports the following types of custom content:
| Files |
Files can be any kind of file you might create on your computer. You could upload your existing sign-up documents, maps, directions, course materials, etc. |
| Images |
The Image Vault allows you to add as many images as you like to your site. You can greatly personalize the look of your site by adding a few custom images here and there. If you want to use a custom logo for your site, you'll need to upload it to the Image Vault. |
| Pages |
The Page Vault lets you define any number of new pages to use on your site. You can add a policies page, a sign-up form, a directions page - anything you can think of. Note that you'll also want to add links to your new page to the existing pages on your site. |
| Snippets |
Snippets are our term for any piece of a web page (text, image, link, etc.) you might want to insert into one or more of your pages. A snippet could be as simple as a message you want to appear on multiple pages, or as complex as a fancy set of special HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language - the common internet browser language) instructions that you want to use on your pages. |
The formatting toolbar
We use several special toolbar buttons for applying custom formatting to your pages. Some of the toolbar button are used for inserting your vault items into your pages, and others are for inserting formatting elements (like line breaks and highlights) or links to external websites. This image shows where those toolbar buttons can be found and highlights the vault-related buttons.
Below is a short explanation of the toolbar buttons associated with your Vaults.
